Here is the progress so far:
I was originally planning to go with a bench/lid, but changed my mind after relocating the heat register.
I built two drawers that slide all the way out of the frame- combined with the cabinet and shelves on each side, it should be very roomy. A big plus for me is having a solid top I can fasten to the frame.
