NPR’s excellent [Live Concert Series] has David Gray at the [9:30 Club] playing songs from his yet-unreleased album :
[NPR : David Gray in Concert]
I recommend the David Gray, it is interesting to hear how some of his highly structured songs come across in a live setting.
If David Gray isn’t your cup of tea, they also have recently had shows from Wilco, Lucinda Williams, and the Kings of Leon. For those you may not have heard of that last group, they are a rock/alt country band that fits in a catagory a friend of mine calls “y’all-ternative”.
The live concert series has a super-convenient [RSS feed] to keep track of new shows.
Kings of Leon calls to mind Black Crowes and the Rolling Stones, and a touch of Michael Stipe, only in the way he deliberately muffles his words.
RE: David Gray -Melissa and I have seen him twice and his live shows are stellar, tight and nuanced; we are only moderate fans but will revisit his concerts any chance we get. Live, he reminds me of Sting without the wit.
Hi ya there I’ve recently downloaded a live session of David Gray’s at the 9.30 club do you know if there is any art work for this
I don’t know about any artwork that goes along with the live shows.
