Two good CAA teams face each other in the NIT quarterfinals. ODU plays division rival Hofstra on the Pride’s homecourt on Weds, televised on ESPN2.
The CAA was a great conference this year. UNCW and George Mason rightfully made the NCAA’s and Hofstra is one of those teams that could have been in the NCAA’s this year if the bubble hadn’t been so packed. Hofstra really plays ODU tough. Hofstra swept ODU this year, and was the only team last season to beat ODU at home in the Constant Convocation Center* in Norfolk. Really one of the best matchups in the CAA.
If ODU wins this game, it will face off with the winner of the Michigan/Miami game in Madison Square Garden.
* Cool footnote about the Constant Center: It played host to the first and second rounds of the NCAA Women’s Basketball tournament this year.
