Gabe visits Virginia

Gabe loves playing with his cousin Dylan:

We went to Virginia for Thanksgiving to visit family and friends. It was an 18 hour drive point to point and Gabe was absolutely princely on the trip there. He spent a maximum of about 10 minutes or so outside the car the way to Virginia and did amazingly well. Car DVD players rock!

My good friend Laura passed along a trick that helped make the long trip manageable: grab bags. I filled up about a half dozen paper lunch sacks with cheap toys I got from the Family Dollar store. When Gabe was getting bored and wasn’t in the mood to watch the DVD player, we would hand him a mystery bag. I think it took him a good five minutes or so to figure out there was anything inside the bag.

Virginia was wonderful, the streets are paved with gold there. We took a ton of pictures, plus passed the camera to my sister plus let the kid’s of our friends who hosted us take a ton of shots as well. The delay in posting has been in part the task of picking which pictures to use. We didn’t even take the camera with us everywhere- our friends the Burges were spared the paparazzi treatment.

Anyway, on to the pics- Gabe was absolutely thrilled to see his Virginia kin. Playtime in the backyard was a blast:

That was a lot of playtime- here Gabe is taking a break with his Uncle Dano:

We also visited a Christmas Wonderland type place with a petting zoo- ponies, peacocks, goats, etc.:

While in Virginia, we stayed with our good friends the Gravelys- Gabe had a ball hanging out with the Gravely kids, too:

For folks who haven’t seen enough, I have a few more shots [here].
