With the exception of Gabe dressed as a skunk, all the blog pictures are restored. I can finally move forward with new pics!
Gabe helped me water plants this morning, his little pirate man gets a bath, too.
Clickety for a larger size- this was a quick camera phone pic, so quality is so-so.
I’ve had some extended downtime lately, but I’m happy to announce that the blog is back!
In other news, I’ve switched my web hosting to Sonic Whale and I am very happy with the switch. My old web host served me well for five years or so, then was acquired by another company (ironically, I was informed of this switch right after I paid my yearly renewal), and the service was horrible.
I did a little research, liked what I saw in Sonic Whale and made the jump. Love it so far- extremely powerful. I am very pleased with both the web based dashboard and the SSH access. Tech support has been very good. The spam filtering that covers all my accounts is a big plus, especially after the old company started to charge extra for this on a per account basis.
So UD is back and we are way behind. Since we have posted last, our kids have doubled in size and now speak Latin, German, and are fluent in the sign language of 3 Brazilian indigenous tribes. The wife was awarded the Culinary Medal of Honor while pregnant with triplets and I have been offered a position in the research labs of Yoyodyne’s jet propulsion division.

In a very sad turn of events, our very sweet and much loved dog Beth died today. She was a very good dog- happy, sweet and loving until the very end. Beth was Jennifer’s faithful companion and had been with her since before I met her. Everyone is really going to miss her.
Julie, one of Gabe’s classmates, had a birthday party at daycare- they had cupcakes:
Wye Mountain is well known in these parts for their expansive fields of daffodils. There is a Daffodil Festival mid-March each year. It is a very casual affair and the photo opportunities are plentiful. Paula took Gabe out there this year:
We’ve had all kinds of Graydon goodness, but I’ve finally solved a pesky problem that is worth documenting for my future reference. My laptop does not have a right CTRL key. I didn’t realize how much I used the right CTRL key until I didn’t have one. I’ve finally got it worked out, which makes using Emacs much better on my Ubuntu laptop…

Update: 3/19, 3:40pm. Added a couple new pics at the bottom. Graydon is doing really great. She sleeps like a log, which is taking a bit getting used to, because Gabe barely slept the first few months.
Update: 3/20 11:00am. Added a couple more pics- woohoo for wireless internet access in the hosptial. Graydie and Jennifer are doing great. The baby is a sleeping machine.
Well, it took a long time and a c-section in the end, but Baby Graydon has arrived safely in the world. Jennifer and I arrived at the hospital Tuesday, March 18, with her having contractions. Though she eventually dilated to 8cm, we never got to that magic number 10, and a c-section was in order. Turns out the baby was pretty big- 8 pounds 13 ounces, and 22 inches long. Big girl- she is definitely long! She is practially double the size of Gabe when he was born 5 weeks early.
Despite not being in labor myself, I’m pretty tired just the same, so without further commentary:
